What to Do When Your Healing Journey Feels Stuck

From Healing From Within by Dr. Marlene Fuson, BCND — Chapter 7: Integrating Mindset, Energy, and Healing Practices
When life feels full, the smallest usable practice is often the most valuable one.
The Weekly Alignment Review
Long-term transformation rarely comes from one dramatic moment. It grows through repeated choices that align thought patterns, emotional awareness, rest, movement, nourishment, and meaningful connection.
- List what supported you this week.
- List what drained or distracted you.
- Choose one practice to keep, one to simplify, and one to release.
- Schedule one small act of restoration before the week becomes busy.
Move slowly. If a step does not feel appropriate today, adapt it or leave it out. A compassionate practice should increase awareness, not create pressure.
What to Notice
A plateau does not mean failure. Sometimes it is a signal to simplify, reassess expectations, return to basics, or seek a different kind of support. After the exercise, notice any change in your breathing, thoughts, energy, or willingness to take the next supportive step. The goal is information, not a forced result.
Reflection for the Week
Which part of your routine supports who you are becoming, and which part belongs to an older version of you?
Write without editing yourself for five minutes. You are not trying to produce the “right” answer; you are creating enough quiet to hear your own honest response.
Your Next Step
Choose one action from this article and practice it for seven days. Keep it small enough to complete even on a difficult day. At the end of the week, ask what felt supportive, what felt forced, and what you want to carry forward.
