From Healing From Within by Dr. Marlene Fuson, BCND — Chapter 10: Harnessing the Power of Energy Healing

When life feels full, the smallest usable practice is often the most valuable one.

Pause With the Chapter Theme

Energy healing can begin with practical questions: What leaves you feeling centered? What creates tension? Which boundaries protect your ability to remain present and compassionate?

Protecting your energy is not about withdrawing from life. It is about recognizing your capacity and making choices that reduce unnecessary depletion.

The Daily Energy Audit

Use the following prompts as a guided journal practice. Move through them slowly and adapt any step that does not fit your current capacity.

  1. List three activities that gave you energy today.
  2. List three that depleted you.
  3. Identify what was within your control.
  4. Choose one boundary or recovery practice for tomorrow.

Carry One Insight Forward

Read what you wrote and underline one sentence that feels especially honest. Turn that sentence into one gentle intention for the next seven days. Reflection becomes useful when it leads to a realistic choice rather than another expectation of perfection.

Reflection for the Week

Where are you saying yes while your body and values are asking for a pause?

Write without editing yourself for five minutes. You are not trying to produce the “right” answer; you are creating enough quiet to hear your own honest response.

Your Next Step

Choose one action from this article and practice it for seven days. Keep it small enough to complete even on a difficult day. At the end of the week, ask what felt supportive, what felt forced, and what you want to carry forward.
